The two-day 10th Beijing E-Town (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) Biopharmaceutical Industry Conference opened at E-Town Bio on May 18.

With an investment of nearly 100 million yuan ($14.22 million), Beijing E-Town Biopharm Generic Technology Platform can provide comprehensive professional technical services for the biopharmaceutical industry, including key technology research, core process development, and pilot production support.

This platform set up the CGT Generic Technology Service Platform, which can provide research and development, analysis and testing, spatial vectors, pilot production, and other services for cell and gene therapy enterprises.

As an important space for promoting industrial exchange in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the conference has been held for 10 years, bringing together more than 300 experts and scholars in Beijing E-Town, with nearly 10,000 participants exchanging ideas.

Currently, there are 180 companies in E-Town Bio, with an occupancy rate of 95 percent, forming an industrial cluster focusing on new medicine research and development, diagnostic reagents, clinical testing, technical services, and supporting service institutions.

Biotechnology and the big health industry have always been one of the key industries developed in Beijing E-Town. 

After more than 30 years of accumulation, the industry has rapidly expanded and the industrial system has become increasingly complete. 

So far, Beijing E-Town has attracted more than 3,500 companies in the medical and health field, covering sectors such as high-end medicines, biopharmaceuticals, modern traditional Chinese medicine, new vaccines, high-end medical equipment, cell and gene therapy, and third-party service platforms. 

In addition, the area has implemented the action plan to accelerate the construction of a highland for intelligent manufacturing of new medicines, empowering enterprises and the industry.
