World robot conference opens Aug 16
The 2023 World Robot Conference will take place from Aug 16 to 22 at the Etrong International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing E-Town.
For the first time, this press conference invited the humanoid robot "Xiaoqi" as a warm-up guest.
With the theme, "Open Innovation, Gathering to Share the Future," this conference consists of the opening and closing ceremonies, a main forum, special forums, and associated activities.
The 2023 World Robot Expo and the 2023 World Robot Contest will be held, presenting numerous highlights.
The event has invited more than 320 international organizations' representatives, renowned scientists, and entrepreneurs, including José Vieira, president of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations; Alexander Verl, chairman of the Research Committee of the International Federation of Robotics; Toshio Fukuda, foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 2020 IEEE President; Yao Qizhi, Turing Award laureate and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
They will deliver speeches and engage in high-level discussions on topics such as open collaboration in robotics, technological trends, industrial applications, and ecosystem development.
The expo covers a total area of 45,000 square meters, featuring exhibits from over 140 domestic and international robotics companies, showcasing nearly 600 items. Forty companies are participating for the first time.
This expo will debut 10 major application sectors under the theme of "Robot +" in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture, trade and logistics, medical and healthcare, commercial community services, safety and emergency, and extreme environment applications.
Moreover, the expo will gather over 30 major companies to display their latest achievements in R&D, highlighting China's strong supply chain and core technological innovation in the robotics industry.
In addition, the 2023 World Robot Contest (Beijing) will take place during the conference, including the Inclusive Robot Challenge, BCI Brain-Controlled Robot Contest, Robot Application Contest, and Youth Robot Design Contest.
These comprise 27 categories, 68 sub-categories, and 116 competition groups. As the Olympics of robotics, more than 4,000 elite competitors from around the world will participate.
The event also plans to release the report on China's robot technology and industrial development, top 10 frontier robot technologies, the collection of 2023 World Robot Conference papers, and other achievements, sparking discussions in the robotics academic and industrial sectors.
During the conference, the "Star of Innovation" award, Top 10 Technical Innovations in the 2023 World Robot Contest, and relevant policies for robotics industry development will also be unveiled.
