Data classification and grading white paper 2.0 released
On Sept 22, the Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Office officially released the "Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Data Classification and Grading White Paper 2.0" at the 2023 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference.
This publication aims to consolidate the achievements of industry innovation governance and forward-looking application practices, providing Beijing with reference and experience for accelerating the formation of an open, comprehensive, and iterative data security governance system.
Officials from the demonstration zone emphasized that data classification and grading are important tools for data governance in the demonstration zone and are a prerequisite for data security governance. They can effectively promote the standardized and orderly circulation of data, continuously advance the implementation of data property rights systems, and provide a foundation for data security governance.
White paper 2.0 builds upon the foundation of version 1.0 by further refining the content of data attributes and updating data classifications, and for the first time, it shares management achievements and corporate practices with the industry.
During the operation of the demonstration zone, a comprehensive set of data known as the "Vehicle-Road-Cloud-Internet Map" was generated, encompassing multiple perspectives, modes, and dimensions.
The operation platform is based on an inventory of relevant corporate data assets and continuously carries out organizational-level architecture, institutional-level standardization, personnel-level implementation, and technical-level safeguarding.
This approach effectively clarifies the management requirements for various stages of data processing and provides supporting technical tools to ensure the security of the entire data processing process. Through the accumulation of experience and capabilities in safe operation, innovative application results are gradually implemented. Currently, two leading industry data sets have been released, supporting research work in related fields for more than 200 organizations. Additionally, a high-precision map crowdsourcing update platform has been initially established to achieve data closed-loop verification.
Meanwhile, enterprises in the demonstration zone are focusing on practical business innovations and actively promoting data application practices.
White paper 2.0 features four representative companies that, based on their data security governance strengths and business priorities, address aspects such as basic data information, data processing, responsible entities, and security measures.
They actively implement the responsibilities of data security governance through organizational development, standardized institutional processes, and technical support, collectively building the foundation for data security in the demonstration zone.
