Birds know best whether the ecology is good or not. 

Since the onset of winter, an increasing number of winter migratory birds have flown to Beijing E-Town, starting their long and leisurely winter life. 

Their presence can be easily spotted on Liangshui River, in park lakes, and amidst reed beds. 

According to the Beijing Elk Ecological Experiment Center, currently, over 20 species of winter migratory birds have gathered in Beijing E-Town, presenting a vibrant and enchanting scene of a congregation of birds.

The clean and unfrozen water of Liangshui River provides an excellent habitat for water birds such as the baer's pochard, mallard, Eurasian teal, ruddy shelduck, ferruginous duck, Eurasian coot, little grebe, grey heron, black swan, and greylag goose. 

Under the winter sun, they play and forage in groups of three to five, in pairs, or individually in the river. 

Nanhaizi Park remains lively in winter: the internet-famous "long-eared owl" has returned as scheduled, with a maximum of 12 individuals; first-time visitors to Beijing E-Town, the north long-tailed tit and the red-billed leiothrix, have been stationed in the park for over a month and don’t show any intention of leaving; such rare birds as the brambling and Eurasian siskin have also arrived, creating a lively scene of birds eating pine nuts, insects, and fruits, breaking biodiversity records in Beijing E-Town. 

In addition to tree branches and water surfaces, lively scenes also appear in the reed beds. While ensuring fire safety, the staff has preserved some reeds, providing wintering places for birds like the Chinese penduline tit, bearded reedling, and vinous-throated parrotbill. They have built chattering bird kingdoms here, in which to raise their offspring.

Birds are one of the easiest wild animals to observe, and bird watching allows people to get close to nature while combining knowledge and fun. Therefore, more and more citizens are joining the ranks of bird watchers. 

The head of the Beijing Elk Ecological Experiment Center called on citizens to practice civilized bird watching when observing wildlife, emphasizing the importance of minimizing disturbance and avoiding damage to the natural environment of birds.
