Beijing E-Town unmanned vehicle delivery to become national model
"We believe that 2024 will mark a crucial point for the commercialization of autonomous driving, so starting in the second half of this year, Neolix began to layout for large-scale implementation," said Liu Mingmin, chief marketing officer of Neolix.
Currently, in Beijing E-Town, Neolix has over 200 unmanned delivery vehicles in operation. The company's unmanned vehicle delivery practices in Beijing E-Town aim to become a national model.
How do Neolix unmanned vehicles complete automatic delivery tasks?
Stepping into the shared distribution center located in Beijing E-Town, unmanned vehicles sit ready for deployment. Real-time data and operating conditions of unmanned vehicles and sorting lines are displayed on a large screen.
"This may be the world's first shared distribution center built with unmanned vehicles. The maximum designed sorting capacity can reach 100,000 items per day, and the current daily input is about 30,000 items," explained Liu.
When a batch of centralized express orders is received, a large number of express packages brought by trucks is automatically sorted and distributed through the "flying car" track on the second floor of the shared distribution center. They are then transferred to unmanned vehicles on the first floor for delivery.
Compared to traditional logistics distribution, Neolix, as a supplementary force, achieves a daily delivery order of 500-800 orders per vehicle through human-machine collaboration. In the past, the daily delivery volume of a courier was about 300 orders, improving the efficiency of courier delivery by 2-3 times.
During this year's "Double Eleven" period, Neolix's pilot operation in the East China region also achieved a breakthrough, with more than 50 percent of the daily delivery volume per vehicle exceeding the traditional 4.2-meter box cargo.
Since settling in Beijing E-Town, Neolix has become one of the first companies to obtain a road test license for unmanned delivery vehicles, providing extensive experience and reference for other cities on how to get on the road and how to operate.
On the exhibition wall of the shared distribution center, Neolix places the road test license of the high-level autonomous driving demonstration area of Beijing at the top.
Now, the company's vehicles have landed in more than 13 countries and in over 40 cities globally, with over 2,000 unmanned vehicles deployed, covering logistics, retail, urban services, education scenarios, and more.
