Today marks the World Environment Day, when we shall all pay attention to the natural ecosystem around us and protect this beautiful homeland.

Beijing E-Town, located southeast of the capital, starts with green but is not limited to the area.

At the Elk Park, lush vegetation thrives, creating a vibrant scene. A clear river winds through the park, with June's sunlight scattered across the water like sparkling silver, tracing bright lines across the dense grass carpet. 

Groups of elks leisurely stroll and graze along the riverbanks. At this moment, a breeze stirs the grass and the reflections on the water, together with elk herd, create an eye-pleasing picture.

With over 30 years of history, the Elk Park not only provides an excellent habitat for elks but also creates suitable nesting places for wild birds.

In the summer and autumn, the ponds within the elk reserve become the best feeding grounds for small wading birds like plovers and sandpipers. During the winter, the open water surfaces reserved for elk drinking become shelters for waterfowl such as geese and ducks.

Colorful pathways, technological roads, and vibrant green corridors also bring a new visual and transportation experience to the city streets.

Since its establishment, Beijing E-Town has consistently prioritized ecological civilization construction. 

By improving urban greening quality, environmental governance and ecological quality are improved here. 

Among these efforts, the transformation of the Liangshui River is particularly notable. 

It has changed from a polluted waterway to a pristine river, with clear waters and lush green banks, flower-strewn steps in the morning light, and waterwheels under the evening sun—all bursting with vitality and life.
