Recently, the completion ceremony for the main structure of the second phase of the BSD Yizhuang Science and Technology Innovation Park was held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).

As the first urban renewal and industrial upgrade park in the development area for 2023, and also a key project for 2024, the BSD Yizhuang Sci-Tech Innovation Park focuses on one of the four leading industries in the area: biotechnology and the health industry.

It targets three major industry sectors and key segments, including large/small molecule drugs, gene medicine research and production, and cell and gene technology.

Additionally, it will support the development of high-end medical devices and technical testing services, forming a highly concentrated, strongly driven, and economically and socially beneficial industrial system.

The first phase of the park, with a building area of approximately 48,000 square meters, is already in operation.

The second phase, with a building area of about 60,000 square meters, will consist of five high-standard biopharmaceutical factories.

These factories are designed with "large spaces, wide column spacing, high floor heights, and high load capacities" to provide manufacturing space for high-end biopharmaceutical companies.

The investment for the construction of the second phase is 380 million yuan ($52.33 million). Once the entire park is completed, it is expected to achieve an output value of about 2 billion yuan and generate tax revenues of 200 million yuan by 2029.

Since the project's commencement on Nov 21, 2023, all personnel on the construction site have overcome various technical challenges, ensuring quality and safety while racing against time.

Through the joint efforts of the construction, general contracting, design, supervision and other related teams, the main structure was topped out half a month ahead of schedule.
