Walker S Lite engages in handling tasks in Zeekr's 5G smart factory.

The industrial version humanoid robot Walker S Lite, developed by the UBTECH ROBOTICS CORP LTD, recently joined the Zeekr factory to start its "training", becoming the first domestically produced humanoid robot to execute material handling tasks throughout the entire process in an automotive factory.

UBTECH, whose humanoid robot headquarters settled in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) this year, is accelerating the large-scale use of humanoid robots.

Walker S Lite is a new product launched by UBTECH for the intelligent manufacturing and smart logistics fields, featuring lightweight and being available for rapid deployment.

During the 21-day-long "training", Walker S Lite has to leverage technologies such as semantic VSLAM navigation, end-to-end imitation learning, precise visual recognition and fine whole-body motion control, so as to autonomously navigate and carry loads on different assembly lines, as well as collaborate with AGV.

By optimizing technologies and equipping high-performance servo drives and six-axis force sensors, UBTECH enables Walker S Lite to walk stably while carrying 15 kg boxes, making it widely applicable for transportation tasks in industrial and logistics fields. Moreover, by configuring different end effectors, Walker S Lite can also perform tasks such as object handling, quality inspection, chemical handling, and assembly.

Moving forward, UBTECH will strive for the breakthroughs in six key technologies such as high-dynamic motion control, compact integrated design, intelligent and autonomous scene perception, and task planning, in a bid to further promote the application of humanoid robots in enterprises such as automotive manufacturing and logistics for assembly, inspection and handling tasks.
