E-Sports Beijing 2024 opens in Beijing E-Town
E-Sports Beijing 2024 events kicked off in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Sept 21.
In 2020, Beijing became the first city in China to establish an e-sports event brand named after the city - the "E-Sports Beijing". This annual event has garnered widespread attention from the domestic and international e-sports industry, with top companies in e-sports such as Tencent, Perfect World, JD.com and Weibo participating.
Over the past four years, nearly 8,000 e-sports events have been organized, attracting 7.73 billion viewers online and offline.
The initiative has achieved significant success in cultivating the industry ecosystem, attracting resource concentration and promoting e-sports culture.
Since its inception four years ago, "E-Sports Beijing" has attracted numerous international and domestic large-scale e-sports events to be hosted in Beijing.
Two top domestic professional e-sports clubs, JDG and WBG, have established their home bases in the city, creating the Beijing Smart E-Sports Event Center and the Chaoyang Park Weibo E-Sports Center. The two centers have fostered a culture of watching e-sports events live and unleashing the potential for e-sports consumption in the Chinese capital.
A complete gaming and e-sports industry ecosystem, led by companies like JD Star and others, has been established in Beijing E-Town, covering equipment development, content distribution, event organization, venue applications and broadcasting services. Beijing E-Town vows to increase its support for the innovation ecosystem advantages of the industry, promoting the accelerated development of e-sports.
