A press conference held in Zhongguancun IC-Park on Sept 18 announced Beijing to host the CSIA-ICCAD 2017 Annual Conference & Beijing IC Industry Innovation and Development from Nov 16 to 17.

During the press conference, Chen Jinge, secretary general of the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA), said that the Annual Conference of Integrated Circuit Computer Auxiliary Design (ICCAD) has become the most influential conference of the integrated circuit (IC) industry since 1995.

This year's CSIA-ICCAD Annual Conference will be themed of "innovation drives development", consisting of an opening ceremony, summit forums, seminars and product exhibition.

Senior representatives from renowned worldwide companies, including the Intel Corporation, Tsinghua UniGroup, Xiaomi, Verisilicon, Mentor, Cadence, ARM, and GLOBALFOUNDRIES, will share opinions on the IC industry, and future opportunities and challenges during the conference.

Technological forums featuring Zhongguancun's IC industry development, EDA & IC design, IP & IC design, FOUNDRY, technical skills and capital are to provide attendees with the most advanced information on future technologies and solutions.

Pei Jun, general manager of Zhongguancun IC-Park, said that the Zhongguancun IC Industry Development Forum will be held for the first time during the coming annual conference. The forum will display Zhongguancun's advantages in artificial intelligent (AI) and chip applications. Topics, including AI achievement transformation, R&D, chip application and entrepreneurship, will be discussed with business giants, such as Baidu and Intel.

Chen Jinge introduced that there will be a professional exhibition hall, gathering 110 leading IC companies from more than 10 countries and regions to showcase their latest products and technologies.

Zhongguancun IC-park will set up a featured exhibition pavilion with the local government and IC companies to show its own achievements.

Gu Jinxu, head of the digital information department of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, said that the IC industry, as a national strategic emerging industry, now faces great opportunities for development and Beijing has paid great attention to the IC industry.

Over the past ten years, Beijing's IC industry has seen an average annual growth rate of 16.2 percent. The Zhongguancun IC Park is a key project of Beijing, covering a total area of 60,000 square meters. It aims to build it into the core of Beijing's IC industry in fields of technology R&D, financial investment, company services and startup incubation.
