The closing ceremony for the 2017 Zhongguancun Innovation & Entrepreneurship Festival was held on Sept 25 with over 300 representatives from local authorities, governments and entrepreneurial service agencies in attendance.

Over 40 ecological innovation-themed activities were launched during the festival, including a global innovation summit, entrepreneurial competitions and the Future Sense AI Experience Show.

Seven hundred and seventy institutions from 32 countries, including the United States, Germany, Korea and Italy, also joined the event to present the latest in global tech. An award ceremony for the Geek Challenge Competition was also held, with Brainomix, a startup from the University of Oxford, winning first prize with its AI imaging software used in the analysis of imaging tests for paralytic patients.

Yu Jun, Party secretary of the Haidian district, addressed the closing ceremony, pointing out in his speech that Zhongguancun Innovation & Entrepreneurship Festival has been successfully held for three years.

"The quality, format and scope of participation of the festival have improved with each consecutive year, enabling the festival to become a global platform for the world’s entrepreneurs to communicate and seek cooperative opportunities," Yu added.
