Tongfang to guard security of cloud computing

Tsinghua Holdings' subsidiary Tongfang Cloud announced its cloud computing strategy on Nov 8 in Beijing, outlining how it will provide solutions for security issues in cloud computing.

The Zhongguancun-based company customizes security services for cloud computing products and solutions in various industries. The services have a wide range, from infrastructure construction and hardware equipment to cloud platform operating systems.

Tongfang Cloud's hardware products not only provide users with high computing performance, but also greatly improve efficiency of enterprises' IT operations and maintenance.

The company's cloud computing platform closely relies on the scientific research and technologies developed by Tsinghua University, which significantly reduces users' IT operation and maintenance costs, and enables users to operate in a stable, reliable and efficient cloud environment.

Cloud computing has became a driving element of basic production. The Internet Data Center predicts that more than 85 percent of large enterprises will adopt a multi-cloud IT environment by 2018, and that by 2019 43 percent of IoT data will be pre-processed by edging computing devices, and that by 2020 over 80 percent of the world's top 500 companies will provide digital services to customers through industry clouds.

Tongfang has a lot of experience in government, education, finance, radio and television, medical care, large enterprises and military industries. National government information construction projects have also cooperated with Tongfang to build an ideal platform for cloud applications.

Tongfang has realized leapfrog development. The value of its assets has increasing from 280 million yuan ($41.2 million) in 1997, when it was founded, to 57 billion yuan in 2017. This year's turnover was nearly 30 billion yuan, almost 300 times that of 20 years ago.

Huang Yu, Tongfang's vice-chairman and president, said that the company will make full use of its listed companies and private funds to carry out internal integration and external expansion, developing independent market competiveness in respective industry sectors.

Tongfang has been listed among the "Top 100 Scientific and Technological Enterprises of China", the "Top 100 Chinese Enterprises in Electronic Information" and the "Top 500 World Brands".
