Artificial Intelligence World 2017, host by AI Era, was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on Nov 8. Hundreds of AI leaders from China and abroad made the most cutting-edge reports and discussions covering technology, academia and industry at the event with more than 2,000 AI elites in attendance.

The AI Oscar Awards are the most revered awards for artificial intelligence in China, which honor people's, companies' and products' most influential contributions to AI technology, industry and society. Examples of awards that would be won include AI World Top 10 People, AI World Top 10 Stars, AI World Top 10 Rising Stars, AI World Top 10 VCS and AI World Top 10 Innovations.

Several companies located in the Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park have been awarded at the AI Oscar Awards, including Baidu, Iflytek, Cambricon, Horizon Robotics, SenseTime, Face++, Mobvoi, TouTiao.com and other leading companies.

Yang Jing, Founder and CEO of AI Era, launched the world's first AI Era WeChat Mini Program at the ceremony.

The program is open to all users. The backend authentication experts can post their ideas to share with other users, and now there are already more than 100 experts settled. Ordinary users can browse the posts from these experts and praise, comment or share the content with friends or groups on WeChat.

Yang pointed out that the new program solves two major problems of the current smart-plus industrialization: the direct retrieval of the relevant technical knowledge and talents and the integration of industry chain resources.

She said, "AI Era hopes to promote the traditional industry through the advantages of AI industry and improve the connection between AI enterprises and traditional industries to establish a quick and direct connection."

Also at the event, Speech Valley of China – the only national industrial base located in the field of the AI industry in China – released the "2017 China AI Industry Development Index Report".

In 2017, the development index of China's artificial intelligence industry shows a rapid growth, up 44.23 percent, compared to the index of 2016, and doubling the index of 2015.

Overall, the development of China's AI industry presents four major characteristics.

First, each indicator's promotion is a collaborative effort and all-round development tends to be balanced. Second, the development environment is rapidly optimized and the basic guarantee needs to be improved urgently. Third, the industrial scale upgrades at a high-speed and the innovation capability needs to be strengthened. Last, the penetration and convergence of industries upgrade steadily and the industry applications have great potential.
