1st Urban Internet of Energy Development Forum held in Beijing

As the first 55 Internet plus smart energy demonstrative projects released by the National Energy Administration (NEA) recently got underway across the country, China’s urban clean energy entered a new stage.

On Dec 1, experts and officials from energy & power, electromobile, intelligent energy storage and conservation, and environmental protection industries gathered at the 1st Urban Internet of Energy Development Forum to promote urban energy transformation and upgrading in China.

Sun Jiami, director of the NEA’s science and technology department, said these projects play an important role in promoting the energy market and industrial upgrading and forming new economic growth points.

Chen Xing, director of promotion of industrial development of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, said that against the background of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development, Beijing can be the center of industrial research and development, and Tianjin and Hebei will be bases of achievement transformation.

The Internet of Energy helps to combine distributed renewable energy and financial innovation, said Zeng Ming, head of the Internet of Energy Research Center at North China Electric Power University.

The energy industry is exploring new ways to innovate the Internet of Energy and financing, which has changed dramatically since the days of traditional power stations, Zeng added.

The forum was co-hosted by the National Internet of Energy Industrial and Technological Innovation Alliance and the Z-Park Internet of Energy Alliance.
