Zhongguancun's next step: Tianjin
Chinese Silicon Valley--Zhongguancun Science Park is innovating its development mode to expand to areas around Beijing, capital of the country.
Zhongguancun will bring its sources of brands, projects, capital and teams to the Baodi district in Tianjin Municipality to build the Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park.
An important project under the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the park will start its construction this year and will cover a planned area of 14.5 square kilometers.
The park is just 70 kilometers west of downtown Beijing, 70 kilometers south of downtown Tianjin, and 75 kilometers east of downtown Tangshan, a city in Hebei Province.

The park will focus on the four industrial sectors of the internet, new materials, advanced equipment manufacturing and science and technology services.
The park is expected to attract an investment of 40 billion yuan and 58,000 permanent residents, and create tax revenue of 57.7 billion yuan and 117,000 jobs.
Transformation of the scientific research findings made by Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park in the fields of the internet, bio-engineering, and medical equipment will be undertaken by the park. It will be able to accommodate enterprises in 2019.
The park will integrate Zhongguancun's industrial resources and provide "one-stop" services focused on production-learning-research, innovative incubation, industrial investment and financing, human resources, and intermediary business consulting to create the Beijing-Tianjin-Zhongguancun industrial eco service system.
