Li Chengyi, head of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), led a visit to Zhongguancun Science Park in Haidian district on March 19, to share his experiences on supporting the development of innovation-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises.

Founded in 1989, the KITECH is the only professional research institution of South Korea Communications Commission that provides technical commercialization for small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea.

Li Chengyi introduced the status quo and future development plans of KITECH and got an overall idea of Zhongguancun Haidian Park's environment for innovation and entrepreneurship and the park's leading industries.

The two sides exchanged their experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship development, policy preferences, and supporting services.

The delegation visited the park's entrepreneurship center and discussed with relevant managers focusing on construction of innovation and entrepreneurial environment and startups incubation. Both sides will seek further cooperation with each other.

KITECH has set up 10 regional branches and five national research centers in South Korea that cooperate with more than 90 foreign research institutions such as the United States, Germany, and Japan. Its three major research areas are basic industrial technology, technology research of green production system, and fusion production technology.
