The final of the 2017 Zhongguancun U30 -- people under 30 -- was held at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center on March 26. The event searches for entrepreneurs at that age or younger who dream of changing the world.

A total of 70 excellent young startups, nine of them from Canada, brought their innovative and entrepreneurial projects for exhibition and head to head competition.

Thirty innovators won an Honor Award of the 2017 Zhongguancun U30. Fifteen Zhongguancun U30 participants were selected for the 2017 Forbes China U30 Elite list in the fields of industries, manufacturing, energy, environmental protection, finance, and risk technology.

In the future, the Zhongguancun U30 will expand into the United States' Silicon Valley, Israel, Germany, and Japan, to develop a national innovation and entrepreneurship platform, and provide young entrepreneurs with a world stage.

Earlier this year, Zhongguancun U30 and Pitch @ Palace China, founded by Prince Andrew, Britain’s Duke of York, reached a strategic cooperation.

Chen Jianfeng, co-founder of Zhongguancun Dahe Capital, said that the Zhongguancun U30, started by 128 scholars, entrepreneurs and investors in 2015, has received support from the Haidian District Youth Association, the Zhongguancun Youth Association, the Haidian District Volunteer Association, a club for entrepreneurs, and angel investment leagues in the science park.

Entrepreneurship has become a trend among young people, many of whom are chasing the footprints of successful entrepreneurs and trying to realize their dreams.

The government will focus on establishing Beijing as a center for entrepreneurship. Based on the integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, Haidian District should implement the new policies of the country and capital city to build an innovation and entrepreneurship service system.
