Zhongguancun Life Science Park steps up IP protection
Zhongguancun Life Science Park recently released a report on its development status of intellectual property (IP) and promised to provide professional IP services for its small and micro-sized companies as a response to the upcoming World Intellectual Property Day on April 26.
As a domestic industrial incubator for biopharmaceutical R&D innovation, the park witnessed its enterprises applying for a total of 6,699 intellectual property rights by the end of 2017.
These applications include 3,404 patents, 3,062 registered trademarks, and 233 software copyrights.
"The protection of IP rights is not only required by mature companies, but also innovative small businesses," said an official from the park.
"Biomedical high-end technologies and products must be protected by law in order to effectively prevent innovative technologies of small businesses from being stolen, imitated, or copied."
The park will provide a full range of intellectual property services, such as assisting enterprises to effectively screen for investments, provide follow-up IP services and counseling to settled companies, and guiding enterprises to use intellectual property rights in investment and financing, expansion, mergers and acquisitions.
