Baofeng launches new home projector
Baofeng Group Co Ltd, an internet entertainment and video company, unveiled a new home projector on Wednesday in Beijing.
"I have made many products and projects since my graduation from university 25 years ago," said Feng Xin, Baofeng CEO. "As a movie fan, I decided to make a product for myself this time and become its endorser."
The portable micro-projector, "Little Motou" or "magic projector", is round with a 13-centimeter diameter and a 360-gram weight. The projector can output a brightness of 220 lumens.
The new product is also equipped with HDR10 technology, DLP theater-level technology and six-layer lanthanide glass lenses, which are only applied to projectors priced at more than 3,000 yuan.
An app was specially designed for Little Motou, to provide users with an intuitive operation experience.
Sale of the new product will start on June 1, with the standard edition priced at 1,799 yuan and the "hot edition" priced at 1,299 yuan.
A 360-degree rotating tripod and a battery with a capacity of 24,000 milliampere hours were also revealed during the launch ceremony.
The total shipment volume of China's projector market exceeded 3.16 million units in 2017, up 25.8 percent year-on-year, according to a March report by Market research firm IDC.
Driven by consumption updates, the home projector market was booming last year, the report said. IDC predicted the composite growth rate of China's projector market will rise to 17 percent by 2022.
