China's second-largest search engine Sogou is giving the ongoing Zhongguancun Innovation Achievement Exhibition an AI touch, local media reported on Aug 27.

AI interpretation system helps to forge the world's first smart exhibition

In the innovation achievement zone, a robot interpreter is elaborating on Zhongguancun's 30 years of development. Missing any important part, visitors can read the subtitles simultaneously recorded and translated on their Sogou devices. If visitors prefer to hear the hear the lines in another language, they may put on the Sogou headsets and there are four available options: English, French, Japanese and Russian.

"When it comes to exhibition guide, AI interpretation is more efficient than the traditional way," said Wang Yanfeng, general manager of Sogou's Intelligent Voice Division, "With our high-quality translation and subtitle explanation, visitors will find it much easier to grasp what an exhibition is about."

In addition to the AI interpretation system, Wang also introduced other smart products, especially the well-received Travel Translation Treasure. These Sogou products can translate between up to 42 languages even without internet connection.
