An opening ceremony for a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Jiangsu province was held by China Network Television (CNTV), Wuxi branch, on Aug 3.
The activity marks the establishment of the first provincial-level postdoctoral workstation engaged in the research of new media video technology in Jiangsu province.
As a major enterprise in the field of new media in the Wuxi High-tech Zone, CNTV Wuxi branch has introduced the first two post-doctorates to its workstation since it was officially approved to set up a postdoctoral innovation practice base in 2017.
CNTV Wuxi branch has always been devoted to emerging industries such as the media cloud, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) since its establishment. It focuses on improving technology and increasing research and development (R&D) investment.
According to Dr Zhu Lisong, chief technical officer of the CNTV Wuxi branch, the establishment of the innovation practice base will improve the enterprise's ability and level of independent R&D and effectively solve the lack of high-end technical personnel in the industry. It will better meet the needs of the CCTV new media in the R&D and innovative development of key projects.
CNTV Wuxi branch will continue to increase investment in independent R&D and set up a studio for AI masters in new media areas in order to conduct in-depth industry-university-research-application cooperation on cutting-edge technologies in industries such as audio and video coding and video genes. It will achieve innovative application of multiple industries including intelligent manufacturing and review, and build itself as a benchmark base in the fields of cloud computing, big data and AI in the domestic new media industry.
