Gu Yue Erhu Workshop is the largest and most influential erhu workshop in Meicun town, Wuxi Xinwu district.
The workshop was established by Wan Qixing, a prominent Wuxi craftsman. At present, over 40 experienced middle and senior technicians work there to make various kinds of erhu by hand. The erhu is a traditional two-stringed plucked instrument.
In June 2005, the workshop copied the erhu used by local legendary figure Hua Yanjun when playing his masterpiece Erquan Yingyue, which is now stored in Hua's memorial hall. Erquan Yingyue, also known as Moon Reflected in the Second Spring, is among the most frequently played erhu solo works in China.
