WND garners intl design award for Blue Green Transparent Mountain

Wuxi Humay Design Co from WND has recently emerged victorious at the 2024 World Design Awards (WDA) with its remarkable project, "Blue Green Transparent Mountain".

Drawing inspiration from lush mountains and crystal-clear waters, the design incorporates traditional elements characteristic of Chinese landscape paintings. Its artistic feature lies in recreating the beauty of mountains, valleys, and ravines combining green and blue hues with rich sculpting techniques while bringing these breathtaking landscapes to life through advanced material processing and engineering prowess, complementing the city's unique attributes.

Situated at the central green belt of Feicui Bridge on Wudu Road, the landscape forms a lakeside landscape gallery that echoes the Twin Towers. The median strip functions as a barrier-separated river, with fountains designed on both sides to connect the two groups of mountain landscapes.

The design of these mountains should incorporate a translucent quality to effectively capture and convey vibrant blue and green tones, while also displaying dynamic color shifts under varying light conditions. Consequently, the materials selected must exhibit transparency, resistance to temperature variations, durability against fading and corrosion, high tensile strength, mold resistance, environmental sustainability, and considerable malleability.

The WDA, an international award hosted annually by The Architecture Community (TAC), stands as a leading platform to delve into the relationships between architecture and nature, architecture and community, and architect and city. Besides WDA, TAC organizes Architect of The Year and International Residential Architecture Awards.
