An intelligent computing center built on AMD Radeon GPUs was launched on Dec 26 in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as WND, marking a new milestone in the district's push to strengthen its artificial intelligence industry.
Developed and operated by WND-based New Power AI, the project is designed to provide flexible, high-efficiency computing resources for AI and related industries.
The first phase of the center will include the construction of a 5,000-card computing cluster. This initial rollout focuses on technical validation and ecosystem development, laying the groundwork for future large-scale expansion while supporting the digital transformation of local industries.
According to Ji Lijun, general manager of New Power AI, the center serves a wide range of applications, including AI training, scientific computing, and graphics rendering. Compared with traditional solutions, AMD Radeon chips offer stronger performance with lower power consumption, an advantage well suited to Wuxi's industrial landscape, particularly its growing smart manufacturing sector.
