The Zhongguancun Forum was held in Beijing from Nov 2 to 3. For the first time, the forum set up a sub-forum on intellectual property rights.

Nearly 150 representatives from government departments, WIPO China office, universities, research institutes, enterprises and intellectual property service organizations gathered together to explore new approaches and initiatives for innovative cooperation and intellectual property procedures and protection.

Richard Burn, the British trade commissioner for Chin,a delivered a speech at the event. He introduced the UK's current conditions in technological innovation and protection of intellectual property rights, hoping that China-UK relations can advance through bilateral technological cooperation strategies.

As an integrated service provider and market-oriented platform for Beijing's innovative ecology, the group is committed to innovating and fostering the development of intellectual property businesses and services, and helping Beijing to create a world-class innovative environment.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Zhongguancun Science Park. It is anticipated that attending guests will have in-depth discussions on effective ways to develop intellectual property rights, Xuan said.

Danial Shaikh, the trade consul of the Uk’s Department of International Trade, signed an MOU with Yang Nan, the general manager of Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park Development Co Ltd. In the future, the two sides will deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of technological innovation, mass innovation and entrepreneurship services.

A round table hosted by Zhang Wei, Secretary General of the International Technology Transfer Collaboration Network (ITTN), also took place to promote international cooperation in industrial innovation technology and intellectual property.

During the session, five special guests brainstormed on how to further enhance China's independent intellectual property rights and innovation capabilities.

This sub-forum was undertaken by Beijing Intellectual Property Management Co Ltd (Beijing IP). As the first state-owned platform enterprise specializing in intellectual property protection in China, it attracted consultation and cooperation by a large number of scientific and technological enterprises.
