Zhongguancun (Shougang) AI Industrial Park unveiled
On Dec 26, the launching ceremony of the Zhongguancun (Shougang) AI Industrial Park, jointly organized by the Zhongguancun Management Committee and Shougang Group, was successfully held in Shougang Park.
Xu Zhijun, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympics, Zhai Lixin, director of the Zhongguancun Management Committee, Zhou Xisong, deputy head of Shijingshan District and other leaders from Shougang Group and the Ministry of Science and Technology attended the ceremony.

The Zhongguancun (Shougang) Ai Industrial Park arises from a strategic cooperation framework between the Zhongguancun Management Committee and Shougang Group. A committee of experts was set up to guide its construction.

The technical level of Zhongguancun Science Park is comparable to that of Silicon Valley. Its AI industry started early and has a complete industrial chain. The park also gathers science and education resources, various talents and investment institutions. Shougang Group owns sufficient space to meet the surging demand for emerging industries.
The construction of the Zhongguancun (Shougang) AI Industrial Park will help the new Shougang region to change its development mode, accelerate the cultivation of emerging industries and blaze a new trail of industrial transformation and upgrading.
The first site to be built in the park is its sports center (2000 square meters) and its power plant (4000 square meters). Follow-up construction will be arranged at the Jinanqiao and Innovation workshop of Shougang park.
The two sides will focus on AI infrastructure, innovation platforms and demonstration projects to serve the winter Olympics and develop a group of application-oriented AI enterprises in such fields as autonomous driving, intelligent robots, intelligent manufacturing and services as well as smart park construction.
At the launching ceremony, Liang Jie, deputy general manager of Shougang Group, introduced the construction plan of Zhongguancun (Shougang) AI industrial park. And Zhang Yulei, director of the industry department of the Zhongguancun Management Committee, issued a set of supporting policies and demonstrated such innovation results as intelligent robots, autonomous driving, and ultra-high definition video.

In addition, as the first enterprises entering the park, Megvii, UISEE, Beijing Yunji Technology, Ubtech, IDG Capital and other companies signed contracts with Beijing Shougang Construction Investment Company.
In the future, face recognition technology will cover smart buildings in the park, autopilot and intelligent network service technology will be widely applied to its smart transportation, hotel service robots will serve smart hotels and intelligent robot technology will provide security, manufacturing and other services.
