JD Logistics launched "Miaoshou", its intelligent scanning receiving system in the company's warehouse on March 11.

Independently developed by JD Logistics, the system can be applied to the purchase link in logistics operations. It uses a targeted manner to solve the issues of large-scale bar code scanning, information collection, and self-correction.

Compared with the traditional manual operation mode, the efficiency of "Miaoshou" is ten times higher.

The application of the receiving system is another independent innovation of JD Logistics in the field of intelligent equipment after exoskeleton robot, intelligent packaging machine, single-piece separation system and cargo-to-human cold chain system.

With the aim of "Enhancing efficiency while improving customer experience" formulated by JD Logistics CEO Wang Zhenhui, the project provides comprehensive, high-quality and cost-effective products and services for global merchants and partners.

In the past, employees were required to scan the bar codes one by one with a scan code gun, which is not only inefficient, but also error-prone.

Warehouse entry is the "bottle mouth" in the logistics operation. Due to the limitation of manual work, goods to be processed often stacked up at the peak of commodity warehousing.

Meanwhile, the small size, dense arrangement and mixed variety of bar codes makes it easy for employees to scan the wrong code.

The application of "Miaoshou" system has increased the efficiency by over ten times, which not only reduces the labor intensity of employees, but has also given birth to a new "human-machine cooperation mode" under intelligent logistics operations.

The key link of goods storage can be easily completed by one person and one machine, which breaks the limitations of the "bottle mouth effect" on logistics operations.

The operation of the new receiving system is simple and efficient. One employee can complete the information collection of nearly 2,000 items in ten seconds, and conduct rotary scanning of neatly arranged bar codes via the camera.

The operation method is similar to scanning QR codes with WeChat. After the barcode walls are scanned in sequence, the whole tray of goods can be put into storage. The perfect combination of automated equipment and machine vision technology greatly lift the warehousing efficiency.

Wang Kun, head of JD Logistics Equipment Planning Department, said, "Barcode scanning and information collection are among the most common scenarios in intelligent logistics."

The "Miaoshou" system has an ultra-high code reading rate, high flexibility and efficiency. It can be widely used in 3C, automobile manufacturing, e-commerce express, third-party logistics, retail, food and beverage, photovoltaic, medical, tobacco, clothing and other industries.

"With the concept of 'short chain, intelligent and mutual growth', we're ready to open up this revolutionary technology to upstream and downstream partners and work with global partners to build a Global Smart Supply Chain Infrastructure Network (GSSC)," Wang added.
