On September 19, a large-scale roadshow that brought together quality projects in the forefront of life sciences was successfully held in the Zhongguancun Life Science Park incubator.

This event was co-sponsored by the Beijing SME Public Service Platform, the Changping Administration of Economy and Information Technology, and Beijing Zhongguancun Life Science Park Biomedical Technology Incubator Co., Ltd.

Innovation drives development. Under the guidance of the national strategy, Beijing has become a "scientific innovation center with global influence". After years of development, Zhongguancun Life Science Park has been at the forefront of basic research and innovation in the field of biomedicine in Beijing. The Zhongguancun Life Science Park Fintech Supermarket is one of its innovations.

In September 2017, the Fintech Supermarket of Zhongguancun Development Group started operations in Zhongguancun Life Science Park. After two years of development, the Fintech Supermarket has raised more than 300 million yuan for incubator companies (according to disclosures of the companies). In the first half of 2019, the Fintech Supermarket also helped four companies realize debt financing of 20 million yuan.

Wang Shugang, a department-level researcher at the Administration of Economy and Information Technology, said at the event that the roadshow was to build a financing platform for biomedical enterprises, accelerate the financing progress of excellent biomedical projects, and support healthy and sustainable development of start-up enterprises.

According to the person in charge of the incubator of Zhongguancun Life Science Park, in 2019 the incubator improved the threshold for settled companies and helped them to enhance their core technology competitiveness and achieve market transformation of scientific and technological results.

In the first half of the year, 18 companies settled in the incubator of Zhongguancun Life Science Park. They specialized in such fields as drug development, gene sequencing, and diagnostic reagents.

According to the reporter, the companies participating in the road show included Beijing SyngenTech Co., Ltd., which was listed in the Top 50 Most Innovative Chinese Biomedical Enterprises in 2009, and Beijing neoX Biotech, which won the 2019 Changping Entrepreneurs contest.

A guest commentator of the roadshow, Chen Wenyan, chief consultant of the WorldUnion Business Development Committee, said that the ten projects on display lead the industry in terms of innovation, team composition and development prospects.

This event coincides with the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC. The person in charge of the incubator of Zhongguancun Life Science Park said that as Beijing is becoming a national science and technology innovation center with global influence and promoting the construction of Huairou Science City, Zhongguancun Science City, Changping Future Science City and the Yizhuang Economic-Technological Development Area, the incubator of Zhongguancun Life Science Park will implement the instructions of the municipal and district leaders, adhere to service-oriented strategy, enhance service capabilities and levels, and improve support for innovative service and innovation ecology. It will play an important role in Beijing's construction of a high-grade, precision-based and advanced industry system, improve the ability of innovative entities and consolidate support for industrial development.
