BEIJING -- Wang Yang on Wednesday met with Moussa Faki Mahamat, chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, after the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Wang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said China stands ready to work with the AU to take the summit as an opportunity to implement important consensus reached between leaders of China and the AU, align the Belt and Road Initiative with the AU Agenda 2063, jointly safeguard global opening-up landscape and the common interests of developing countries, and build an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future.
Extending congratulations on the success of the summit, Faki said the AU fully supports the Belt and Road Initiative, and is willing to work with China to enhance cooperation, boost Africa's unity and self-strengthening, and jointly safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
