BEIJING -- Wang Yang met with President of the Ecuadorian National Assembly Cesar Litardo here Wednesday, and both sides expressed the willingness to push bilateral ties to a higher level.
Wang said in the meeting that China is ready to work with Ecuador to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state as the next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
China stands ready to deepen exchanges and cooperation in culture, education, science and technology, think tanks, media, tourism and other fields with Ecuador, to push the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level, said Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body.
The CPPCC is willing to enhance ties with the Ecuadorian National Assembly at all levels to play a positive role in the development of the relations between the two countries, he said.
Litardo expressed warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the CPPCC.
Ecuador stands ready to actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road and work with China in synergizing their development strategies, to push forward bilateral mutually-beneficial cooperation with greater results in various fields.
