A press conference was held in Beijing on Oct 26, 2021 by the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, one of the 10 special committees under the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Wang Weiguang, chairman of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, outlined the major work of the special committee during the 13th CPPCC National Committee, including its work amid the campaign to study the history of the Communist Party of China and consultative meetings on key ethnic and religious issues.
At the press briefing, members of the CPPCC National Committee answered a wide range of questions from journalists. They stressed the importance of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation, upholding the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context, and promoting innovative forms of consultative meetings.
This marked the third press conference by special committees of the 13th CPPCC National Committee. More will be held in the future.
