Chen Xiaoguang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MHRSS) with a team on Nov 17.

The team learned about the ministry's work in the handling of proposals submitted by CPPCC National Committee members since the First Session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, listened to its suggestions on the CPPCC National Committee's proposal handling work, and consulted with and supervised the ministry in handling a key proposal on promoting the career development of the youth in the emerging industries, which was submitted to the Fourth Session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

Chen pointed out that the visit facilitated face-to-face communication between CPPCC members and the institution that handles proposals. He said it was a practical measure to develop the whole-process people's democracy in China.  

Noting that the MHRSS deals with affairs that are closely related to people's daily lives and interests, Chen expressed his expectation that the ministry will improve the mechanism of proposal handling, and accept reasonable suggestions to solve wide-ranging problems.

This visit, according to Chen, allowed the CPPCC to better understand China’s work in human resources and social security. He called on the members to conduct in-depth researches, offer more targeted proposals, and help the public learn about the Party's policies.
