Bater, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team to survey ethnic unity and the construction of patriotic religious groups in Southwest China's Yunnan province from May 7 to 12.

During his survey trip in Kunming, capital of Yunnan, Bater chaired a symposium with local CPPCC members and government officials, learning about the implementation of the spirit of the central conference on the work of the CPPCC by the province.   

In his speech, Bater commended the efforts and achievements made by the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in implementing the conference's spirit, which demonstrate the remarkable advantages and strong vitality of the CPC-led multiparty cooperation and political consultation system.

Bater urged CPPCC members at all levels to create a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, further promote the principle of developing religions in the Chinese context, guide all ethnic groups to identify with the great motherland, the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, the CPC, and the socialism with Chinese characteristics, and contribute to building China into a modern socialist country in all respects and realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

During his tour in villages of several ethnic groups in the autonomous prefectures of Chuxiong and Honghe and the provincial religious associations, Bater learned about the ethnic and religious work and local CPPCC members' performance of duties.
