Members of the Chairperson's Council of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) conducted a study survey at the China Tibetology Research Center in Beijing on Dec 23.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the event.

The council members were briefed on the development of the center and toured exhibitions showcasing the center's scientific research achievements and the reincarnation of Living Buddhas of Tibetan Buddhism. They also held discussions with accompanying CPPCC members, as well as officials and experts from the center.

During the visit, participants emphasized the need to fully implement the CPC polices on the governance of Xizang in the new era. They called for efforts to safeguard national unity and strengthen ethnic solidarity, forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation, and continuously enhancing the identification of people from all ethnic groups with the great motherland, the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, the CPC, and socialism with Chinese characteristics.

They highlighted the need to steer Tibetan studies in the right direction, deepen studies on major theoretical and practical issues, promote the development of theoretical system of the community for the Chinese nation, and tell stories well about Xizang in terms of ethnic unity and progress.

CPPCC members were encouraged to conduct in-depth research on the deep-rooted conflicts and issues affecting the long-term stability of Xizang and to offer constructive suggestions, uniting people and gathering strength for building a modern socialist Xizang that is united, prosperous, culturally advanced, harmonious and beautiful.

Also participating in the study tour were Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, and CPPCC National Committee vice-chairpersons Hu Chunhua, Shen Yueyue, Wang Yong, Zhou Qiang, Bater, Su Hui, Shao Hong, Mu Hong, Wang Dongfeng, and He Baoxiang.
