OVC holds 2025 HarmonyOS Ecosystem Talent Conference
The 2025 HarmonyOS Ecosystem Talent Conference took place on Dec 27 in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), drawing over 1,200 representatives from government, academia, and industry.
HarmonyOS is a fully self-developed domestic operating system. As of October, over 1.19 billion devices have joined the HarmonyOS ecosystem, representing approximately 32.3 percent year-on-year growth.

The "HarmonyOS Talent White Paper 2025", released at the conference, highlighted a significant talent gap and projected demand for 1 to 3 million jobs over the next three to five years as the ecosystem expands.
The HarmonyOS Ecosystem (Wuhan) Talent Development Base was unveiled at the event, aiming to position OVC as a hub for HarmonyOS talent through university-industry collaboration and specialized training programs.
Located within the HarmonyOS Ecosystem (Wuhan) Innovation Center, the largest and most advanced center of its kind, the new talent development base has already attracted over 10 HarmonyOS ecosystem companies to OVC, with more than 40 enterprises beginning their transition to HarmonyOS.
The Optics Valley Talent Seed Fund announced its first set of projects with HarmonyOS ecosystem initiatives at the conference, committing financial support to university-led projects to accelerate the commercialization of HarmonyOS developments.
Through the HarmonyOS Ecosystem Innovation Center, Wuhan aims to establish 100 benchmark scenarios, complete 200 application developments, cultivate four industry-specific operating systems, and gather 100,000 developers by 2027.
