Shandong names foreigners 'honorary citizens'
A total of 16 foreigners were recently named "honorary citizens of Shandong province" for their contributions to the province's economic and social development, as well as its international exchanges and cooperation.
Six of the recipients work at Shandong universities, according to the provincial education department. They include Manfred Helmut Pahl, co-founder of the Chinese-German Technology Faculty of the Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Laurence Alphonse Belfiore, professor at Qingdao University, Arvar Raghunatha Laxmisha Rai, professor at Shandong University of Science and Technology, Suredra P Shah, professor at Jinan University, Aurelian Constantin Vuscan, expert at China University of Petroleum, and Vladimir Terzija, guest professor at Shandong University.
