The main body of the emblem of the 18th Asian Games is the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium built in 1962 in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the middle of the emblem is a shining sun, symbolizing the unity of all Asian people and the "Energy of Asia".
The "Energy of Asia" lies in the depth and richness of its culture, heritage, and legacy. When all these elements come together, they will be a major force in the world.
The same principle applies to Indonesia, which is home to hundreds of ethnic groups speaking many different languages. The founding fathers of the country had envisioned a strong and united nation under the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika philosophy.
