Zhang Qiang, Chairman of the Board & CEO of Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare Co., Ltd.

Zhang Qiang delivered a keynote speech on "Promoting Independent Control of Core Science and Technology, Building an IP Highland for High-End Medical Equipment" at the 17th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum. He talked about his company's achievements in independent innovation.

He said that from its very start, United Imaging Healthcare had realized that IP was the core element of its international competitiveness. Zhang added that to this end, his group had has formulated a series of IP layout strategies.

He also pointed out that through independent research and development, the company was actively promoting the commercialization of its scientific research achievements and contributing to the development of China's medical science, technology and health industry.

Zhang Qiang holds a doctorate; he graduated from Case Western University, USA, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, is the Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive Officer of the Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare Co., Ltd – having been nominated in the first batch of the "Shanghai Thousand Talents Program" in 2011 and was hired as a "Shanghai Distinguished Expert". He has years of work experience in the field of medical imaging, especially in the research and development of MRI products.
