63 key projects break ground in Xi'an
The groundbreaking ceremony for Xi'an's key projects in the third quarter was held on July 26, with 63 projects starting construction with a total of 62.94 billion yuan ($9.68 billion) in investment.
Xi'an is the capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
The projects involve innovation-driven and advanced manufacturing, modern services, cultural tourism, urban construction, environmental protection, and people's livelihoods.
The projects are meant to spur the economic development of the city.
Thirty of the projects are involved in the innovation-driven and advanced manufacturing industry, with a total investment of 40.2 billion yuan, including a future artificial intelligence computing center and a carbon-based advanced materials production and research integration base.

Among the 30 projects, 19 have received a total of more than 1 billion yuan in investment, which will help Xi'an build a strong advanced manufacturing city.
There are 15 projects involving people's livelihoods that have attracted the attention of the people, with a total investment of 9.23 billion yuan.
They mainly include the comprehensive laboratory building project of the High School Affiliated with Xi'an Jiaotong University in Qujiang New District and the second-phase project of the Northwest Women and Children's Hospital.
In the first half of the year, 473 municipal-level key projects under construction received 285.9 billion yuan in investment, reaching 72.4 percent of the annual plan.

Moving forward, Xi'an will continue to carry out project planning, strengthen service guarantees, and advance project construction to promote the city's high-quality economic development.
