Ruian develops as a beautiful city
In recent years, the county-level city of Ruian – administered by Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province – has promoted its development as a beautiful metropolis.
In so doing, it has won a number of appellations, such as awards for being a national civilized city, a national health city and a national garden city.
Ruian has reportedly handed out subsidies for its green development and the city has also striven to become a model for environmental development, to the benefit of its residents.
Caocun town is such an example. Relying on its environmental resources – such as its lush mountains, pristine water, verdant fields and idyllic villages and its cultural features – it has promoted itself and become well known on the internet.
The city has also focused on moves to achieve peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality and in the current year it has moved to attract high-tech and low-carbon industries.
Moving forwards, plans are for Ruian to accelerate the development of its low-carbon industry and promote its green and low-carbon transformation. It will also move to develop its hydropower, wind power, solar power and other renewable energies. It will promote the clean and efficient development of coal and electricity and strive to become a provincial resource recycling demonstration city.
