Organizers offer special services for 'special' athletes

The organizers of the 8th National Special Olympic Games are checking eyesight, hearing, oral cavity and nutrition conditions of athletes to improve their health. [Photo provided to China Daily]

Yao Baohua, an employee of the China Administration of Sport for Persons with Disabilities, said it is because these sports can improve physical strength and intelligence, as well as helping the group of people receive understanding, recognition and respect that the Special Olympic Games are promoted around the world.

It's of vital importance for them to go out, have a try and enjoy social life, Yao added.
