As a professional football field for the 2023 Asian Cup in Xi'an, the center has a total construction area of about 250,000 square meters, with 60,000 fixed seats. It has adopted the world's first double-layer cable-membrane structure with a large-span roof.
The closure of the center's steel roof structure marks the completion of its main body and steel structure.
Xi'an was selected as a venue for the Asian Cup in 2023, along with Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing, Dalian, Qingdao, Xiamen, and Suzhou on Dec 28, 2019, according to the Chinese Football Association.
