Tonglu offers incentives for Spring Festival
Tonglu county in East China's Zhejiang province recently rolled out various incentives to encourage non-local workers to stay put during the upcoming Spring Festival.
Non-local employees in 10 local medical device companies recently received 120 gift bags sent by the Tonglu bureau of market supervision and the Tonglu medical device industry association.
Among the recipients is Guo Hongbo, deputy manager of the quality department at Hangzhou Kangji Medical Instrument Co Ltd.
Although Guo will not return to his hometown in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region this year, he said the care provided by the local government and his company has been particularly heartening.
In the Tonglu Economic Development Zone, over 1,000 employees from outside Zhejiang are eligible to apply for free film tickets from Jan 25 to Feb 24.
Meanwhile, Chengnan sub-district in the county has offered gift packages to more than 700 non-local workers.
The gifts include a phone card, an admission ticket to cultural and sports events, snacks and epidemic prevention supplies.
Wang Peipei, a non-local worker from East China's Shandong province and the head of the quality assurance department of Hangzhou Quadrant Technology Co Ltd, hailed the government's move as "really considerate" and said that it was a pleasant surprise to receive the gift package.
