New Year song goes viral online
A song titled Guonian, which means "celebrating the Lunar New Year" in Chinese, recently went viral online.
Sponsored by the publicity arm of the CPC Tonglu committee, the song has garnered over 500,000 views after being posted on media platforms such as CNTV and Xinhua on Jan 29.
It was produced by Hangzhou TV, composed by Zhu Peihua, a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, and sung by Tashi Dhondup, a young singer with the China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble.
Most scenes in the music video were shot in Tonglu's rural areas, according to producer Yuan Jing, who added that the beautiful scenery and folk culture of ancient villages in Tonglu had left a deep impression on her.
With its elegant urban scenes and captivating rural views, Tonglu has emerged as a popular destination for film and television makers in recent years. TV series such as Feather Flies to the Sky and Best Time, as well as variety show Back to Field, have filmed scenes in the county.
