Qianzhiya, a baby diaper manufacturer, recently recruited 20-plus employees at a job fair held in Tonglu county in East China's Zhejiang province on Feb 7, the first working day following the seven-day Spring Festival holiday.
The new employees successfully solved the labor shortage the Tonglu-headquartered company faced and filled roles related to logistics, R&D, warehousing and custom services.
The job fair, the first to be held in Tonglu this year, attracted 100 companies offering 6,000-plus jobs. No fewer than 3,000 jobseekers attended the event.
The fair was held as part of a recruitment campaign launched by local authorities on Feb 1 to boost employment.
The campaign will see the county hold more than 50 online and offline recruitment events throughout the year, with the goal of creating an additional 6,000-plus jobs, the government said.
To date, more than 2,700 people have reached intended employment agreements with local enterprises.
Over 7,200 residents of Tonglu have expressed a desire to seek employment this year, according to data by an online recruitment platform launched by the government.
Jobseekers can access the latest recruitment information on the platform after registering their personal information by scanning a QR code. Presently, 650 enterprises have advertised 150,000 job vacancies on the platform.
