Linping is an important place geographically, connecting Hangzhou with East China's Shanghai city. Located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, it is the gateway to the northeast of Hangzhou and is at the intersection of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor and the smart manufacturing corridor to the east of Hangzhou.
Linping has an efficient and convenient transport network – with the Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed railway, the Hangzhou-Haining intercity railway and Hangzhou's urban rail transit converging there. It only takes about one hour to travel from Linping Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station by high-speed train.
The district also has unique shipping resources, such as the Grand Canal and the second channel of the Grand Canal (under construction), which are expected to achieve a combined transportation system for rivers and seas.
