Enjoy ravishing apricot blossoms in Jinyun

Located at the source of the Zhenxi River, the village of Xingpan in Jinyun county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – boasts the ultimate in natural scenery, especially in the spring when its delicate apricot blossoms come into bloom.

Now, with the arrival of the season, in this 700-year-old village more than 5,000 apricot trees are in flower along the banks of the Zhenxi River.

The beautiful scenes in Xingpan village always delight photographers – and in 2021 it was selected as one of the best spots to appreciate the spring in China.

The Qingming rice cake is another reason visitors stream into the village in the springtime.

The village has been following the most authentic recipe to make Qingming rice cakes for centuries – pounding the fluffy grass into juice and making dough with it. That all makes the rice cake take on the hue of green jasper. 

Although it is time-consuming and laborious, the refreshing and rich flavor is well worth the wait.
