China's first saw museum is about to open in Huzhen town – located in Jinyun county, administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – local media reported.
The museum – covering a floor space of more than 1,400 square meters – was transformed from an industrial plant. The museum is divided into eight exhibition halls, with the development of saw machine industry as the main theme.
It not only demonstrates the local development history of the saw machine, but also showcases the development of the saw industry around the globe.
Huzhen is known as the home of China's saw machine sector. In 1995, Lishui's first saw machine was manufactured there.
After decades of development, the saw machines produced in Huzhen now account for more than 70 percent of the national market share and there are more than 30,000 people engaged in the production and sales of saw machines in the town.
The saw museum will open free to the public in the near future. It is currently having a trial run and a visit requires an appointment.
