Increased innovation capability bolsters industrial development in Tonglu
A campaign launched by Tonglu county in East China's Zhejiang province earlier this year to boost its innovation capabilities has been bearing fruits.
The campaign involves the local government helping companies bring in talents and set up partnership with universities or research organs in the nation.
The newly hired professionals have since helped companies overcome technical barriers and develop cutting-edge products. An example of such a product is the brushless motor developed by Xianglong Logistics in partnership with Li Liping, a professor at Zhejiang University of Technology.
The failure rate of the sorting and telescoping machines installed with the newly developed motors has been significantly reduced, and this is expected to save the company about 1 million yuan ($153,846) per year.
Through this campaign, Hangzhou Ebei Industrial Co Ltd has carried out in-depth cooperation with Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Guangdong University of Technology and Jiangnan University in the fields of degradable materials and industrial design.
In addition, by teaming up with the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, Tomato Technology's Tonglu branch has developed a new type of degradable material which is said to be of a globally leading level.
