Submission Requirements
Application period: 17:00 23 April 2022 to 12:00 5 May 2022 (Beijing time). The applicants should send the Letter of Application, proposal and pre-qualification documents in PDF format (max. 75 MB) to the host at futurecity@ftzbj.com.
Letter of Application
The Letter of Application will be provided as an appendix.
It will only be valid if stamped (physical or e-stamp) by the applicant (or the leader of the consortium).
Proposal submission
The proposal should demonstrate to the host that the applicant has a good understanding of the project, and that the planning methodology meets the host's expectations. Applicants should include past experience as support and propose a team which can crack the complexity and the challenges of the project.
Applicants taking part in the preliminary selection should submit a digital proposal of no more than 40 pages (excluding cover and section titles).
Proposals should cover the following:
Team composition
Outline skills of the international team relevant to the project, including CVs of the team leader and the core members with their key skills and past project experience (including project name, category, location, scale, and the role they played).
Anticipated length: Up to 8 PowerPoint slides
Thought piece
Based on the positioning of the Daxing International C&E and Consumption Hub outlined in relevant documents, the applicants should incorporate their understanding and preliminary research to generate the thought piece covering both business plan and concept plan.
The thought piece should take the following key factors into consideration: value proposition of the location (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Beijing, and Daxing Airport Economic Zone); the interpretation of the site and the periphery (focus on the uniqueness and challenges); the interpretation of the target customer and their demands; work plan for the competition.
The thought piece should leverage planning & analysis, concept design, big data application, and technology innovation etc.
The thought piece should focus on ideas rather than specific concepts. The applicants should demonstrate to the host their planning methodology and its feasibility to the target site. The thought piece is encouraged to be creative - considering a mix of narrative and visual media, including but not limited to data analysis, graphs, drawings, sketches, and images for reference.
Anticipated length: Up to 20 PowerPoint slides
Relevant experience
Provide four relevant examples of your projects. If applying as a consortium, two of the examples should be provided by the consortium leader; the remaining two from the consortium members.
Relevant projects include:
Large-scale C&E project
Large-scale commercial project
Project with global/national influence
Each example should contain the following information:
Project description, including the specific role of each consortium member in the project
Location
Project type
Plot size
Progress of implementation
The relevant examples should demonstrate the following qualities/attributes:
Business planning analysis: How the business planning analysis aligns with the project on the ground, and how the results of the analysis underpin the design
Fundamentals of good design: How the project demonstrates the fundamental qualities and attributes by incorporating both practicality and aesthetics while having a compelling underlying narrative
Innovation: Examples where green & low-carbon, cultural inclusivity or tech & smart factors have driven the outcome of the project
Experiential qualities: How the project is experienced in a physical, virtual and/or emotive sense, and how the design demonstrates the fulfillment and joyfulness through user experience
This project is challenging, and the host is particularly interested in responses which highlight experience of similar projects. Throughout, the response should demonstrate the project's success; the challenges overcome by innovation; and engagement with the host and the team.

Pre-qualification documents
Chinese firms: the applicants should submit a form with their basic details, business license certificates, a letter of authorization from the legal representative, the scan of ID card of the authorized agent, and a consortium agreement (if applying as a consortium). The abovementioned documents will only be valid if stamped (physical or e-stamp) by the applicant (or the consortium leader).
Overseas firms and those registered in Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan: the applicants should submit a form with their basic details, legal business license issued by the country or region in which they are located, a letter of authorization from the legal representative, the ID card of the authorized agent, and a consortium agreement (if applying as a consortium). The abovementioned documents will only be valid if stamped (physical or e-stamp) by the applicant (or the consortium leader).
If the documents are not in Chinese, a Chinese translation should also be provided.
